I’ve been quilting for over 20 year. The Queen B…Quiltin’. I’ve learned a good bit through my life’s journey which has been filled with love, grandeur, successes and failures. I hope to inspire and provide encouragement with every stitch you quilt!

The Quilting Thru Greece and Egypt Quilting Cruise will be on the Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas, the travel dates are October 15-22, 2027, roundtrip out of Athens, Greece. The ports of call are Limassol (Cyprus), Alexandria (Egypt), and Mykonos (Greece).

Beverly Huggins Kirk is a Master Quilter, educator, and founder of Oklahoma’s first African American Quilt Guild, Scissor Tales Guild. A proud alumna of Langston University, with a graduate degree in Adult Education from the University of Central Oklahoma, Beverly has dedicated her life to empowering others through the art of quilting and education. Her passion for sewing began early, evolving from taking classes to teaching, ultimately becoming a recognized leader in the quilting community.

Beverly specializes in bold, colorful narrative quilts that tell powerful stories, capturing the essence of history and culture. Her work has been exhibited in shows, universities, and museums across Oklahoma and the United States, earning her numerous awards and recognition. Beverly’s quilts have been prominently featured in prestigious exhibitions, such as Journey of Hope and And Still We Rise by Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi, and she has contributed as a panelist at the James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art in St. Petersburg, FL.

As a socially conscious artisan, Beverly’s commitment extends beyond creating beautiful quilts. Through teaching, charitable work, and leading her guild, she fosters a deep appreciation for quilting’s cultural significance, while inspiring the next generation of quilters. Beverly’s journey reflects her unwavering dedication to storytelling through textiles, education, and community-building, making her a pivotal figure in the quilting world
